If you’re looking to savor authentic Japanese soba in Okinawa, look no further!

In Naha, you can enjoy not only Okinawa soba but also exquisite Japanese soba. Near the Hyatt Hotel, “Sanraku(山楽)” offers a dedicated 100% soba without any added flour, providing a unique and flavorful experience.

The distinct aroma, taste, and smooth texture of 100% soba, coupled with the captivating broth and a variety of rich toppings, make it an irresistible choice.

Don’t worry if you’re not fluent in Japanese; an English menu is available for your convenience.

During our visit, we tried the duck soba with tempura topping. Tempura involves dipping small pieces of seafood, vegetables, or other ingredients in a batter made of flour and then deep-frying them in edible oil—a kind of tempura known for its generous size is a specialty at Sangaku.

The duck soba not only features the carefully crafted soba but also boasts a delicious and rich broth that perfectly complements the juicy and tender duck.

While many might have tried Okinawa soba, the Japanese-style soba unique to this restaurant is something you must experience.

By the way, the difference between Okinawa soba and Japanese soba lies in the ingredients. Okinawa soba uses wheat flour, salt, and alkaline water as its main components. Unlike Japanese soba, which uses “soba flour,” Okinawa soba falls into the category of Chinese noodles due to the absence of soba flour in its preparation.
